We recently went on our very first cruise and decided to use Norwegian Cruise Line. It was a 5-day cruise through the Bahamas that we really enjoyed. Here are 5 things you need to know when booking a cruise with Norwegian Cruise Line.
Guest 3 And 4 Sails Free
When planning a family vacation, finding the best deal is key when trying to stay within a budget. Norwegian Cruise Line has an amazing deal that makes traveling with family pretty affordable. On select cruising date, Norwegian Cruise Line runs a promotion that allows your 3rd and 4th guest sail free. Well, it’s not completely free, you still have to pay taxes and gratuity for those passengers. Taxes are $99 a passenger which is really a good deal when traveling with a family of 4.
Unlimited Drink Package
If you plan on really enjoying your trip, I recommend opting for the unlimited drink package. Depending on when you sail, you can qualify for a free unlimited drink package (they usually offer several different upgrades for free but I think the drink package is the best deal). The drink package is for 2 passengers so that means mommy and daddy can both have a marvelous time. It’s pretty hard to find a sailing date that will not let you include it for free unless it’s on a very popular week.
Bring Water Shoes To Great Stirrup Cay
Great Stirrup Cay is Norwegian Cruise Line’s private island in the Bahamas. If you traveling through the Bahamas (usually the best cruise deals), your itinerary will include a stop on their private island. It is a nice island but the beach is very rocky. It can be very comfortable if you plan on spending time in the water especially if you are going with kids. Water shoes will help ease the pain a little. Bring Lanyards for your Room Keys
Your room key is all you need when onboard your cruise. If you have a drink package, you will use your room key when at the bar. Having a lanyard will make sure your key is easily accessible at all times and also helps you always keep an eye on it. Just ask someone on the ship to punch holes in your key card.
Bring Things For Young Kids To Do
There are is a long list of activities and events every day on the ship. If traveling with adults or older children then you will have more than enough to do. The struggle is finding things for young children to do. If you plan on using the day camp then this won’t be a problem but if you know your kids won’t be using that service then bring things for them to do in the room during downtimes.
We really enjoyed our time on the Norwegian Sun and already planning on our next family cruise with The Norwegian Cruise Line.
