The BeatsX Wireless are the newest in ear headphones from Beats By Dre. They are light weight in ear headphones that are water resistant and features a behind the neck design.
I have been using these headphones for about 3 weeks now and here are my pros and cons
Weight – These headphones are really light weight. I actually forget that they are on sometimes.
Charger – The BeatsX uses Apple’s lightening cable. That means one less cable to keep track of if you are already invested in Apple products. They also offer a quick charge feature and I can usually get about an hour of music out of a 15 mins charge.
Sound Quality – Really enjoyed the sound quality. Once you find the correct size earbud it offers a nice rich sound but not too bass heavy.
Pairing – If you have an iPhone you headphones automatically pops up on your screen if your Bluetooth setting is turned on. It only takes a few seconds and your phone will always remember the headphones.
Don’t get white – As cool as the white looks, they get dirty very easily. Lysol wipes are going to be your best friend.
Noise Cancelation – Now this can be a pro and a con but they are not technically built for noise cancelation. Once you find the perfect size earbuds, The BeatsX does do a great job of drowning outside noise. If you are runner or cyclist you have to be careful since you might not hear your surrounds.
No Auto Turn Off – Its a little difficult turning off The BeatsX. Sometimes when I hold down the power button the headphones do not actually cut off. I wish they had a feature to turn itself off after a certain amount of time of not being used.
Cable – If you already have a lighting cable then this will not bother you but the cable that comes in the box is really really short. I don’t even bother using it.
Overall I think there great headphones and I would recommend them for anyone in the market for a pair of Wireless ear buds. The PowerBeats3 is a good alternative as well but will cost you about $50 more. The PowerBeats3 is also a better set of headphones to working out with because of the ear hook design.
